JUST SOMETHING INTERESTING.... =)

FIRST AID...
In the first 3 weeks at Sondela I did my Level 1 of  First Aid Training,I've learned a couple of skills and procedures which I must follow in case of an emergency. In the hospitality industry it's necessary to have First aid, because there's always an emergency somewhere in this industry.

The procedure you need to follow when you approach a person that needs help:

  • HAZARDS- Observe area to make sure there's no hazard that can have an effect on you and the patient.
  • HELLO-Introduce yourself to the patient and ask permission to assist him/her,Ask the patient the necessary questions to determine if the patient is conscious or not.
  • HELP-Ask a "MUSHROOM" to call the emergency services or do it yourself.
  • AIRWAY-Make sure the patients airway is open and that there's no airway obstructions.
  • BREATHING-Look,listen and feel,If not breathing do rescue breathing.
  • CIRCULATION
  • STOP SEVERE BLEEDING-Direct pressure points or elevating.
THE CPR PROCESS...

C - Cardio
P - Pulmonary
R - Resuscitation

  • Open the airway (only in the sniffing position) and do 2 rescue breaths
  • The chest must rise when doing the rescue breaths
  • Landmark - in the center of the breastbone
  • Do 30 chest compressions (4-5 cm deep)
  • Shoulder over the patient and keep the arms straight
  • Ratio of compressions: Rescue breaths is 30.2
